About

I’m Larry Wilson and HRcommons contains my thoughts and opinions, and your thoughts and opinions, about the art and science of human resources management in the 21st century.  Since most of us spend the majority of our waking lives at work, this is an important subject.

A “commons” is one name for a community gathering place.  When you’re at the commons, your opinion is as important as the next person’s, and everyone is welcome to join the conversation.  Web logs and other social media are the commons of our world today, so HRcommons is a place to have conversations about our lives at work.

A little about me:  In my HR career, I’ve been a generalist and a specialist, I’ve worked for small and large organizations, and I’ve been in both the private and public sectors.  Which doesn’t prove that I know what I’m blogging about, but I should bring some breadth of experience to the conversation.

HRcommons is my personal weblog about human resources management.  The opinions expressed here are mine alone, and are not the opinions of any past, current or future employers or clients.   These are my opinions, they are not facts, and I reserve the right to change my opinions from time to time.   (That’s called growth!)  These are my opinions, subject to the copyright laws of the United States.  If you rely on, or implement, any of my opinions, you do so at your own risk.  What works for me in my context may not work for you in your context.

I hope you enjoy being a part of HRcommons.  Join the conversation!
